Senior Project Controls & Data Analyst
Third Coast is an offshore focused midstream company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Our operations are primarily located along the Gulf Coast and deep-water producing regions in the Gulf of Mexico.
We’re seeking a Senior Project Controls and Data Analyst based in our downtown Houston corporate office to support capital projects through cost control, forecasting, performance analysis, and executive reporting. This role combines project controls expertise with strong data analytics and visualization skills to turn project, schedule, cost, and vendor data into clear insights that support decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cost management, performance measurement, benchmarking, and reporting, along with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both project teams and leadership. Position works closely with Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, contractors, and vendors across a portfolio of capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost baselines, spend curves, and performance reporting across multiple capital projects.
- Analyze actuals, trends, variances, and emerging cost and schedule risks to support accurate forecasting and timely decision-making.
- Support change management, cost trend tracking, accruals, and estimate-at-completion updates with clear narrative explanations of key drivers.
- Create dashboards, scorecards, and executive-ready reporting in Excel, Power BI, and related tools for weekly and monthly leadership reviews.
- Support benchmarking, estimate validation, vendor performance analysis, and cross-project cost intelligence to improve planning and governance decisions.
- Partner with project managers, construction, engineering, procurement, and finance to improve reporting consistency, data quality, controls, and KPI alignment.
- Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and continuous enhancement of analytics and project controls practices across the portfolio.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or other related field, or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- 5+ years of project controls experience with a strong focus on cost management, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Experience in oil and gas, midstream, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with cost control tools and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong skills in Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and data visualization.
- Working knowledge of WBS, CBS, benchmarking, estimate validation, and performance measurement practices; EVM experience is a plus.
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills in English with the ability to translate complex project and financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- The position supports a portfolio environment and requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions
- Hybrid office/remote work schedule, subject to change.
- Frequently seated working on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Occasional travel (5-10%).
